Who we are

Technology for shoe factories

Mec-Val is a company based in Gambolò, in the province of Pavia, Italy.
With over 90 years of experience, it specializes in manufacturing footwear machinery and is recognized worldwide for producing sewing machines designed for “opanka”-type soles.

Mec-Val is a company founded in 1934 in Vigevano, an Italian city known worldwide for its strong presence of shoe factories.

During the 1980s, Mec-Val achieved enormous success and expanded worldwide thanks to the design and manufacturing of an innovative single-thread machine with an oscillating horn capable of sewing “opanka”-type soles. The ease of the manufacturing process and high productivity favored the diffusion of this new machine model and the affirmation of the Mec-Val brand throughout the world.

The commitment for the coming years focuses on improving production processes and developing new models that enable two-wire stitching with knotted stitches, significantly improving the quality of workmanship. The design of new machines is ongoing and centers on efficiently anchoring the sole to the upper. This includes the carding of the upper, pressing the sole to the upper, and stitching the sole to the upper. Our goal is to better meet—and sometimes anticipate—the needs expressed by footwear manufacturers throughout their production processes.

Currently, the Mec-Val brand is associated with the company Emmecipi, where sewing machines and sole-pressing equipment represent our core business. We continue to expand our product range with innovative machines and accessories tailored to meet various needs.

Mec-Val is also known as EMMECIPI, specializing in design
and prototyping for the shoe manufacturing industry.
